Tips on how to enjoy floating more!

swimmingAre you thinking of trying floatation therapy? Great, but you might want to know the things you can do to enjoy the experience more. Every float is different from one person to another and each experience is different from another floating experience. However, when it comes to optimising your float experience, different people can share the same floating tips.

Planning your float

Life is busy. We rush around from point A to B and still don’t have enough time to do things. Floating can help you relax and make you feel like you are in control of everything in your life. This is the main reason why floatation therapy is highly encouraged, especially for people who are experiencing too much stress from work. To enjoy your floating experience and get the most out if it, here are some important tips for you:

  • Coffee person? Any form of stimulant, such as coffee is not good prior to floating. If you function well after having a cup of coffee, schedule your floatation therapy in the afternoon. Your body will have more time to metabolise the caffeine before you get inside the float tank.
  • Do not touch your face when inside the tank. Before going inside, be sure to wash your face and let it dry. If possible, do not touch your face when inside and ignore the itching sensation. Your hands will be covered with silky saltwater so touching your face will do you no good. Besides, you’ll realise soon that the itching sensation will go away on its own.
  • Get comfortable. When you go inside the float tank, release all your stresses away and lie back in a comfortable position. Play with different body positions to see which will work best for you.
  • Lie still. Once you found a comfortable body position, hold on to it, keep it and lie still. The more you move, the more water will move you from wall to wall. Lying still is the key. Once you get used to it, you will feel like you are floating in space!
